Today, May 26th 2010, the work of the 3rd International Conference of the Society of Oriental Liturgy began at the Thessaly Conference Center, in cooperation with the Academy of Theological Studies of Volos and under the hospitality of the Metropolis of Dimitrias and Almyros.
His Eminence, Metropolitan of Demetrias & Almyros Ignatius opened the conference by welcoming all the guests of the International liturgical scientific community.
Then the Director of the Academy of Theological Studies, Dr. Pantelis Klaintzidis, addressed the participants on behalf of the Academy.
After that, the President of the Society of Oriental Liturgy Professor Elena Velkovska thanked the Holy Metropolis of Demetrias and the Academy of Theological Studies of Volos for their hospitality and proceeded to the delivery of the Presidential Address with the title: "Byzantine Liturgical Books Between Jerusalem and Constantinople: Toward a Taxonomy of the Sources of Byzantine Liturgical Books."
