The Library of the Academy for Theological Studies of Holy Metropolis Dimitriados set off in January 2008 in the Conference Center of Thessaly in Melissatika (Volos). The purpose of the Library is to provide a peaceful environment for its users. The Library has a Reading romm and is mainly addressed to theologians - teachers, as well as special groups of people such as clergy and researchers. Currently, the collection consists of 5,000 documents (4,350 titles of books and 10 journal titles). As for the automation of operations, these are performed with the use of a relational database.

The Library's Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) can be found at the Academy for Theological Studies website (http://www.acadimia.gr/ ) and is accessible through an open-source software (openbiblio). You can search the OPAC by clicking here. The processing of the material used is based in the Greek and international standards. These are: The Dewey Decimal Classification System (DDC), the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), the subject headings of the National Library of Greece and other respective national libraries.
